Zebra Elastomeric Connectors: Making the Connection

OSCO offer Zebra Elastomeric Connectors for use in a variety of applications connecting the printed circuit board (PCB) to LCD Displays. There are several different connector types available that vary in their level of performance offering engineers a very affordable and reliable solution.

Zebra Connectors have alternating conductive and non-conductive layers and when in situ the conductive layers are positioned vertically to ensure the contact is made from top to bottom, in the thickness direction. The non-conductive layers vary dependent on the type of connector chosen and their differing pitch.

Both the Carbon and Silver Zebra Connectors have the option of a Solid or Sponge Rubber Support on one or both sides of the connector along the length. These Supports on one or both sides offer a larger width area eliminating the additional requirement of a holder whilst maintaining a low compression force throughout deflection.
