Extreme Temperature Cable

OSCO have the capabilities to design cables that are resistant to the spread of fire. However, flame resistance will be dependent upon your material choice and construction of the finished cable. Considerations such as the environment, electrical, mechanical and chemicals will play an important part in the choice of materials selected.

We understand that cable subjected to both high temperature and low temperature environments need protecting and as such we are able to design single and multi-core cables with a variety of excellent insulation materials such as FEP, PFA, ETFE and Silicone Rubber.

Typically under extremely cold temperatures, cable materials lose flexibility or become brittle and when flexed can crack or shatter.

Similarly, when exposed to high temperatures, cable materials lose tensile strength and electrical properties.

It Is therefore essential to review every feature within the cable at the design stage including conductor material, insulation, fillers, tapes, shields and jackets to ensure your custom cable retains its performance at temperature from cryogenic to 450°C and higher.

Extreme Temperature Cable Applications include:

  • Aerospace
  • Oil and Gas Plants
  • Arctic Environments
  • Military Equipment
  • Sensors
  • High Temperature Magnetic Coils
  • Industrial Controls and Appliances
