Carbon Connector

FUJIPOLY ZEBRA connectors have alternating layers of conductive carbon-filled and non-conductive silicone rubber.  They make reliable connections by deflecting between contacting surfaces.  ZEBRA connectors are used for connecting any LCD from small displays to large area displays for instruments.

ZEBRA SOLID SELF-SUPPORTING CONNECTORS:

The Solid Self-Supporting ZEBRA connector utilises a standard ZEBRA connector element supported by a soft, non-conductive silicone rubber on one or two sides. The silicone rubber creates a larger width that eliminates the need for a holder, and yet the force required for deflection is very low.

The standard Solid Self-Supporting ZEBRA connector has a 0.020”/0.50mm wide ZEBRA connector element and is available in eight different widths to accommodate LCD’s with a glass lip overhang of 0.050”/1.27mm minimum.

ZEBRA SPONGE SELF-SUPPORTED CONNECTORS:

The Self Supporting Sponge ZEBRA connector uses standard ZEBRA connector elements supported by a silicone sponge rubber on one or two sides. The silicone sponge generates a larger width that can remove the requirement for a holder, even though the force needed for deflection is minimal.

The standard Self Supporting Sponge ZEBRA connector is available in a host of widths to accommodate LCD’s with a glass lip overhang of 0.060”/1.5mm minimum. The Self Supporting Sponge ZEBRA connector is used to connect LCD’s to printed circuit boards and eliminates bowing of the printed circuit board due to the low force required to make contact.

Benefits of Carbon Elastomeric Connectors:

  • Solderless Connections
  • Nonabrasive Contacts (Zero Insertion Force)
  • Environmental Reliability
  • Small Glass Overhang
  • High Density Contact
  • Ease of assembly
